Susan Frisbie

Susan Frisbie studied journalism and political science at Missouri Southern State University earning her BA in Mass Communications. Following graduation, Susan worked in a fundraising and communications capacity at the University of Illinois at Chicago and later served as the Communications Manager for the International Visitors Center of Chicago. Susan then lived and worked as an English teacher in Guadalajara, Mexico. Susan’s love of travel and international politics led her to pursue her Master's degree at the University of Sheffield, England. Earning her MA in International Studies, Susan’s coursework focused on human rights, democratization, and development. Her studies culminated in the writing of a thesis, which critiqued democracy promotion efforts of the U.S. government in Nicaragua. Susan is thrilled to have the opportunity to combine her professional work experience, educational studies, and personal commitment to social justice in her role as WCCN’s Development and Marketing Director.
